Korean Fried Chicken

Aaron & Claire’s Korea Recipe 

Ingredients:

  • 500-600g of Boneless Chicken Thighs 

  • 1 1/2 Cup of Frying Powder

  • 1 1/2 Cup of Cold Water

  • 1 Teaspoon of Salt

  • 1 Pinch of Black Pepper

  • 1/2 Tablespoon of Minced Garlic 

  • 1 Teaspoon of White Vinegar

Instructions:

  1. Cut the chicken into bite size pieces and put it in a bowl.

  2. Add the Salt, Black Pepper, Garlic, and Vinegar to the Chicken and massage gently.

  3. Microwave the Chicken for about 30 to 60 seconds but be careful to not cook the surface of the Chicken.

  4. In a large bowl, add the Frying Powder and Water. Mix until the Batter is fully combines and dip the Chicken into the Batter. 

  5. Bring a wide container and spread the Frying Powder.

  6. Take out the Chicken from the Batter and put it separately on top of the Frying Powder. 

  7. Pour some Powder on top of the Chicken and then shake it for few seconds.

  8. In a Frying Pan, add a generous amount of Oil and let it become extremely hot.

  9. The Oil is ready when you put a piece of Batter and it floats after 3 seconds.

  10. Put the Chicken in the Oil and keep string it until the Chicken is golden brown.

  11. Take out the Chicken and serve.

bONUS

Spicy Chicken 

Sauce Ingredients:

  • 1 Tablespoon of Gochujang

  • 5 Tablespoon of Ketchup 

  • 2 Tablespoon of Soy Sauce 

  • 1 Tablespoon of Red Pepper Powder

  • 4 Tablespoons of Sugar

  • 1 Tablespoon of Minced Garlic

  • 4 Tablespoon of Corn Syrup (or honey)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, mix all the Sauce ingredients together until fully combines.

  2. Prepare a Nonstick Pan over medium heat and add the Sauce. Keep mixing until it boils.

  3. Add some of the Chicken you made earlier to the Sauce and mix it until it’s coated well.

  4. Take out the Chicken and serve.
